The Spaniel & Budgie

Somewhere along the fourth or fifth iteration of the Kevin’s Pub website, I invented The Spaniel and Budgie as a proper British-sounding name just in case the name “Kevin’s Pub” never took off. (If you read the tragic history, you will realize this was a valid concern.)

I suppose that means I should have renamed the website to The Spaniel and Budgie immediately, but it was bad enough having that stupid “_” in the domain name without having an ampersand, instead.

Actually, I discovered the name “The Spaniel and Budgie” after I created a photo collage with our Cocker Spaniel, Bubba Elvis Gilhooly and our Budgie, Basil Fawlty Gilhooly. Both have crossed the bridge, unfortunately. That photo (now lost in time) was one of my first attempts at doing something “interesting” in Photoshop Elements. I called it a “bird dog.” Get it?
